Langarud or Langeroud is located on the south coast of the Caspian Sea. It is about 50 kms from Rasht, and 340 kms. from Tehran, with a mild and humid climate. It is irrigated by the Shalman and Langerood Rivers.

One of the most important tourist attractions of Langarud is Chamkhaleh coasts. It provides guests with jockeying and yachting and beach landscape.

The old city is divided into two parts by Langeroud river. When Nader Shah was king of Iran, Langerud had been one of the most important dockyards in northern of Iran. The most famous archaeological place in Langeroud is pol-e kheshti, a historical bridge across the Langeroud river.
